We are blessed to have a very beautiful church for our daily worship, a focal point in the town center and a source of great joy to all of those who visit us from far and wide.
The history of the Mission of San Jose del Cabo is a rich and fascinating, not to mention bloody one.
The building itself has been on the present site since the 18th century, although the present structure dates from 1932.
Old buildings need not just love, but maintenance, and in our case, restoration! Like many building projects, some of the problems are obvious, others not so.
Some improvements are cosmetic, such as new paintwork. Others are more deep rooted and structural, such as the floor and the ceiling.
In addition, it is our hope to install new lighting and a new sound system to enhance the experience of the liturgical celebration of the Mass for all of our visitors and parishioners.
As visitors will realise, these have not been improved for many years and we know from what our visitors tell us that this is an important priority for them as it is for us.
